This pack contains 5 different style maps, 4 island and one canyon environments. Size is from 1km to 12km in size. More importantly, I provide tools to generate any shape and size island from basic StaticMesh of the shape of desired island. Here is a video how to generate a new island in 13 minutes.
The landscape is highly customizable with paint layers for asphalt, dirt, and grass, and features non-convex collisions for foliage and billboard LODs.
The roads, fences, and signs are procedurally generated from splines using the custom blueprint nodes from the DriftIslandPlugin, which is a required plugin available for free on my marketplace page. The plugin was designed in C++ to optimize generation speed, as generating a large number of roads from splines via blueprints alone would not be viable. The roads come in three different widths and additional splines on the edges of the road can be used for fences, rails, or signs.
Drift Island also provides a Houdini engine generator that can generate an entirely new island, complete with splines for roads. Users can define the size and resolution of the landscape, the widths of the roads, and the amount of roads, houses, foliage, and more. To use this feature, a static mesh of the landscape shape must be provided, which can be created in a program like Blender.
While the Houdini engine plugin is not required to use the level, it offers a convenient way to generate a different-looking island. The plugin can be downloaded from GitHub, but a Houdini Engine license is required and can be obtained for free from the SideFX website. Overall, Drift Island is a robust asset that provides a customizable, procedurally generated island for game development.
